The Image-Podcast der InnoMateria doesn't leave any doubts: almost no visitor of the exhibit could pass by the EPP Forum's booth located in the Congress Centrum Nord of the Koelnmesse without putting a hand into the transparent container filled with small green EPP balls.
On May 22 and 23, many interested colleagues visited us at InnoMateria 2012 in Cologne, a trade show that focuses on innovative materials. The results are excellent: the presentation of the EPP Forum was the center of many highly informative discussions - and many promising connections have been made.
A wide Variety of Applications
Similar to our last trade show appearance at Munich's Materialica, once again the EPP Forum's booth was chosen for filming. In Munich, state TV station Bayerisches Fernsehen filmed our booth, in Cologne a camera team of the trade show itself wanted to present our material to its viewers. Dipl.-Ing. Christian Traßl, General Manager EPP Forum, had the chance to demonstrate the wide range of applications for expanded polypropylene - be it automotive parts, heating insulators or shipping material.
Lightweight Material is the Future
Whether it's steel or fiber-reinforced plastic, the future of all materials is dominated by their lightweight usage. Benefits such as energy and cost savings as well as easier transportation and assembly are speaking a clear language - a perfect field of application for particle foams. Naturally, this lead visitors in Cologne to EPP and the team members of the EPP Forum, who were highly sought-after discussion partners. We were the poster child for the InnoMateria shows goals: to present the great importance of solution-based "new" materials to the public and helping it to discover the "hidden champions".
Many of the new connections that we've made at InnoMateria have a chance to be deepened in the near future: quite a few visitors have shown interest in our expert workshop on June 20 in Kreuzwertheim. This workshop with its motto "Lightweight solutions for mobile recreation applications" once again deals with lightweight construction and its ongoing success while pointing out one of the many fields of application of expanded polypropylene.
