After his return from Particle Foam in Berlin, Christian Traßl, General Manager EPP Forum, had nothing but praise for the international trade show: "If you are interested in or working with particle foam, you can't afford to miss this show."
Every three years, the Department for Polymer Technology of the Society of German Engineers (VDI) hosts the Particle Foam conference to offer its visitors the chance to listen to expert lectures, to exchange knowledge and to network. This year made no exception: on November 28 and 29, almost every main actor of the industry traveled to Berlin. The conference program attracted about 140 participants from all over the world. The main difference between Particle Foam and other conferences: it doesn't just present scientific and applied topics in a passive way, but instead gives its participants the chance to discuss practical matters such as environmental aspects, energy conservation and legal frameworks. Thus, each visitor travels back home with valuable information and new insights.
New developments in the world's most important particle foam markets, innovative application solutions or the optimization of production methods - these are just three topics of almost three dozen sessions held by respected local and international experts.
Remarkable: many speakers are working for member companies of the EPP Forum, such as BASF, Kurtz, NMB, Kaneka, Teubert, Erlenbach and RUCH Novaplast. Furthermore, Christian Traßl, General Manager EPP Forum, informed interested conference visitors about public funding of R&D projects. Conference chair Walter Kurtz, Chairman of VDI's Department for Polymer Technology, is also EPP Forum's Chairman of the Board. This gave the Forum and its members an active role in organizing the most important conference in the particle foam field. "A very important event", underlined a very happy Christian Traßl.
But it's not just new information that makes Particle Foam worth a visit: new contacts and exchange among the participants make the journey to Berlin a worth-while experience. The engagement of many innovative companies under the roof of the EPP Forum shows that networking within the Forum is alive and well - and it's a reason to mark one's calendar for the next Particle Foam in three years today.
After Munich's Materialica and Berlin's Particle Foam, the EPP Forum will exhibit next at Cologne's Innomateria 2013. And while we won't tell you much about our plans yet: our presence at the trade show will be quite special. The preparations are already in full swing - exciting times are ahead ...
