Expanded polypropylene has a great future as a material in motorhomes and camping equipment.
Why? – Lightweight construction, insulation capability and design freedom are the properties that fabricators and users appreciate most about this versatile particle foam. And it is little wonder – everyone is thinking in terms of energy savings and low-cost construction! It’s as if the lightweight EPP were made for this very production goal.
The experts at our interactive workshop were impressed by the inspiring diversity of applications for EPP: They were impressed above all by the low weight, low costs and ample strength of EPP. Virtually unlimited design possibilities, good noise insulation properties, perfectly integratable functions and a resilient surface round off the attractive application profile of expanded polypropylene. Another benefit: The material is also excellently recyclable.
What the experts especially praised was that EPP allows a significant reduction in part diversity. For example, in an EPP-integrated design for engine bay covers including wheel cases, only four moulded foam parts are needed, as opposed to nearly thirty parts in a conventional design. This is a good example of how EPP can very efficiently help save materials and costs!
